Calabria at the Seatrade Med 2012 to promote its four ports in the cruise market

The Calabria Region exhibited at the Seatrade Med in Marseille, from 27th to 29th November 2012, promoting its four ports: Corigliano, Reggio Calabria, Vibo Valentia and of course Crotone.

The fair was attended by the vice president of Calabria, Antonella Stasi and the assessor for internationalization Luigi Fedele. Moreover the territory was represented by the president Giovanni Grimaldi and the secretary Salvatore Silvestri of the Port Authority of Gioia Tauro.

During a meeting with the president Stavros Hatzakos and the general secretary Maria De Larratea of the Medcruise Association, was discussed the opportunity of the membership of Calabrian ports.

Furthermore with the president ot the Port authority of Corfu, Sotiris Vlachos, was debated the idea to co-operate for the development of the Adriatic-Ionian area, according to the strategies pursued by other geographical areas.

Cirò, the wine of the gods

One of the best-known products of the territory is its wine, especially the "D.O.C." Cirò, "wine of the gods", that was proffered to Olympic champions after the games.


Sila, an amazing mountain in the middle of the Mediterranean

The Calabrian mountains can be identified with the vast plateau at the centre of the region, with peaks that hit the 2000-meter mark. The Silan landscape is characterized by the larician pine, a soaring, tall tree that recalls the gentle wilderness of the Alps

Capo Colonna, breathing Magna Graecia
